The Challenge
Shark, a global leader in household innovation, designed and developed their first hairdryer and looked to Dot ID for support in refining their Colour, Material and Finish (CMF) strategy. The challenge was to add a new CMF theme that appealed to the European market while maintaining global consistency as a brand in a sector new to the Shark business.
Leveraging our extensive CMF expertise we approached the project from an aesthetic, functional and technical point of view ensuring the creative vision was
fully feasible when it came to manufacture.

The Challenge

“Dot ID have been a strategic design partner for Shark since the inception of the Shark Beauty portfolio. Their deep industry knowledge allowed them to partner with Shark design and engineering teams to provide valuable insights into design, materials, system configuration and consumer interactions. I look forward to continued work with Steve, James and the team as the Shark Beauty range grows.”
– Chris Hedges – VP Design and Engineering – Shark Ninja
The Impact
The refined CMF strategy not only strengthened Shark’s brand presence in a very competitive market but also enhanced consumer appeal, positioning the product for success in European and global markets.
